Why Should We Care if Jesus is the Good Shepherd?

There is only one flock of sheep that belongs to God. God has called only one Shepherd to care for His sheep. (Ezekiel 34:23 & John 10:16.) Jesus healed every disease while here. He had compassion on people because they were helpless like sheep without a shepherd. (Matthew 9:35&36.) People today still aimlessly wander through life.  God wants to make a covenant of peace with all people and bless them. (Ezekiel 34:25&26.) Jesus came to show us the way to God the Father. Jesus proclaimed to be the way, the truth, and the life. (John 14:6.) Jesus asserted all who saw Jesus, saw God the Father. (John 14:9.) All Jesus said and did came from God. (John 14:10.) Jesus said He was the Good Shepherd because He died to save the sheep. (John 10:11.) Jesus said He knows who His sheep are and His sheep know Him. (John 10:14.) Those who aren’t His sheep don’t believe in Him, don’t listen to Him, and don’t follow His example. (John 10:26&27.) Jesus knew not everyone would believe in Him and that one of His 12 disciples would betray Him. (Luke 22:3&4.) Judas betrayed Jesus when Satan entered Judas. (John 13:27.) Though God intended for Jesus to die for us, Jesus said it would have been better for Judas if he had never been born. (Matthew 26:24.) Those who don’t accept Jesus perish because they refuse the only truth that can save them. (2 Thessalonians 2:10.) They are condemned because they prefer evil. (2 Thessalonians 2:12.) The world hates Jesus because He testifies to their evil deeds. (John 7:7.) Those who love God hear what God says. (John 8:47.) Anyone who knows the one true God will confess and love Jesus because He came from God.  (John 6:45 & John 8:42.) Jesus protected His sheep while He was on earth by the name God gave Him. (John 17:12.) Jesus prayed for Peter to remain strong because Satan wanted to try Peter’s faith. (Luke 22:31&32.) Jesus prayed for God to protect all believers from Satan by the power of God’s name and the name God gave to Jesus. (John 17:9, 11, &15.) Salvation is only found through the name of Jesus. (Acts 4:12.) Because Jesus was obedient to death on the cross, God exalted Him at God’s right hand. At the name of Jesus, all people will kneel and confess Jesus is Lord. This will glorify God. (Philippians 2:9-11.) Everyone God calls will come to Jesus and Jesus will never send them away. (John 6:37.) It’s God’s will no one who trusts Jesus will be lost, but have eternal life. (John 6:39&40.) Jesus gives His sheep eternal life and no one can remove them from His flock. (John 10:28.) The Lamb at the throne of God in John’s vision is the Good Shepherd. (Revelation 7:17.) God said He would search for the lost sheep and bring them in to the flock. God fulfilled this prophecy in Ezekiel 34:15&16 by sending His Son, Jesus, as the sacrificial Good Shepherd.  The message of the cross is foolish to the unbelieving world, but to those saved, it reveals the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18.) No one has seen, no one has heard, and no one can conceive of the new heaven and earth God has planned for those who love Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9.)

First let me say I am sorry I am a day late in uploading this. My family dealt with an emergency situation yesterday which demanded all of my attention. Have a blessed day and thank you!
